A Look Under the Hood: When Life Is Running, but Something Isn't Right

Sometimes the warning lights in our lives don't come with sirens. The car still runs. We still go to work. We take care of our responsibilities, help the people around us, and keep moving forward. From the outside, everything may look perfectly fine. But somewhere underneath the hood, we know something isn't quite right. In A Look Under the Hood, Coach Rich Shumate uses the familiar experience of owning, maintaining, and driving a car to explore something much more important-our relationship with Jesus Christ.Through honest conversation, personal reflection, and everyday examples, Coach Rich looks at the spiritual warning lights we sometimes ignore: trying to control everything ourselves, running on empty, neglecting basic maintenance, taking wrong turns, carrying burdens we were never meant to carry, and trying to navigate our own path when Jesus should be at the wheel, guiding the way. This isn't a book about having everything figured out. It's about being willing to look beneath the surface-to check where we are, recognize what may need attention, and make sure Christ is still leading the way.Because we shouldn't have to wait for something to break before we take a closer look.Sometimes we simply need to look under the hood.
