A Crown of Bone and Tide: 1

The Drowned King's enforcer was sent to kill her. Her blood had other plans.Marisol Vane is the last of a bloodline the crown tried to drown a decade ago - a Tideborn whose forbidden magic can calm or wake the sea itself. When a storm forces her to reveal her power to save a fishing village, the King's most feared Hallowed Blade is sent to bring her back in chains.Kael Ashgrave has spent ten years bound by a blood oath he never chose, hunting the crown's enemies without question. He should kill Marisol Vane on sight. Instead, the moment his hand closes around her wrist, a mark neither of them can explain ignites between them - and the geas that controls his body suddenly isn't the only claim on his loyalty. As a forbidden bond pulls them together, they uncover the truth: the Drowned King means to wake an ancient god beneath the isles and drown everyone who won't kneel. Freeing the isles will mean breaking Kael's oath, defying a king, and trusting a bond neither of them asked for. Some tides, it turns out, cannot be commanded. Only followed.
