A Character turns upon the Author

A stranger barges into a meeting of British-Indians in London and asks them to denounce an eminent immigrant-writer who has revealed his "immoral" past. So, they stop chattering about the daughter problem and other discontents of the Diaspora and begin an unprecedented literary discussion. They talk of the writer as a person. They talk of migration and mimicry, seduction and sex, brothels and buggery. A dramatic twist in the tale transforms the stranger's life.
