30 Days in the Book of Romans: A Self-Directed Bible Study

Romans is not a hard book because the language is difficult. It is hard because it makes you question things you have believed for a long time. Why Jesus died on the cross. What sin actually is. How righteousness really works. This self-directed study walks you through Paul's letter over four weeks, and it teaches you how to study, not just what to think. You will learn what an epistle is and how to read one, what was happening in the church at Rome when Paul wrote, and how to follow his argument from the problem all the way through to God's solution.Inside you will find: - A reading plan built around reading the whole letter, not scattered verses- Historical and literary context for the church at Rome- A weekly Monday Meditation to frame what you are reading- Twenty Tough Questions that press on the places where Romans is genuinely uncomfortable- A Friday Focus to capture what you are learning- Vocabulary help and a word study for the terms that carry the most theological weight- A Scripture memory plan for Romans 8:31-39, with a method that works even if you are convinced you cannot memorize anything- Closing sections on the Romans Road and the boundaries of Christian liberty- Room to write throughoutThe pace is thirty days, but the timeline is meant to motivate you, not limit you. Take longer if you need to.This study is for the woman who wants to open her Bible and understand it herself. You do not need a seminary degree or a shelf of commentaries. You need the text, a pen, and a willingness to let God's Word change your thinking. Our application can differ with our circumstances. Our interpretation should not. Learning to tell the difference is where confidence starts.Free companion resources, including videos and blog posts, are available at kelligarms.com/romansresources.
