25 Years in the Jungles is D. Richard Hood's story of living in the Peten jungles of Northern Guatemala, how he survived living off the grid, forty miles from the closest town via the Passion River. The closest road, forty miles upriver, would be the trading post for any supplies. Richard lived off the land (and water) as an independent missionary, bathing in the river, the only place to do so. Since Richard grew up in the Ozark mountains of Missouri and Ark, where he learned to hunt, fish, and trap, this proved to be not only beneficial but lifesaving.
