Then a stranger reached inside him-and something Emmett didn't know was there fought back.Until that day, seventeen-year-old Emmett had spent years trying to move past the disappearance of his older brother, Rainer. Now a time traveler tells him that every supernatural ability in the world traces back to seventeen foundational carriers-and Emmett is one of them.Suddenly, everyone has an answer for what he is. The government offers to train him. A resistance movement wants his help. The Grey Man who attacked him still wants whatever he failed to take.
